Business Chat launches at Apple

Apple’s iMessage will soon be releasing a new feature allowing consumers to communicate with businesses directly. They call it Business Chat.

Business Chat has big partners

Launching with top tier companies such as Wells Fargo, Lowe’s Hilton, and Discover, customers will be able to speak with business representatives through text and chat.
Business Chat let you make payments with Apple Pay, book appointments, and a plethora of other business offerings.
The feature represents Apple’s continued effort to create a central platform for their B2C services such as communications, payment, and customer representatives.

Untethering from the social media hydra

With big hitters like Twitter, Google, and Facebook Messenger conquering the current business messaging landscape, it’s a smart time for Apple to find their own ground.
According to a recent Nielsen study, 56% of consumers would prefer to text businesses rather than phone. This also gives an edge to platforms and existing social media networks.
Against the existing monsters of competition, Apple’s hundred million strong user base may aid in early adoption, coupled with a built-in Apple Pay, smooth transactions could have their appeal.
